Get your search widget up and running in minutes
Magic Search adds an instant, full-featured search overlay to your BigCommerce storefront. Here's how to get started:
Install Magic Search from the BigCommerce App Marketplace. The app will request read-only access to your product catalog, categories, and brands. A 7-day free trial starts immediately.
After installation, the app automatically imports your visible products, categories, and brands. A search index is built and the search widget is installed on your storefront. You can track progress on the Dashboard.
Go to the Settings page to customize your search widget. Select which custom fields (like Color, Size, Material) should be available as filters. Drag and drop to reorder how filters appear. Configure sort options (price, name, most sold, most viewed), default sort order, view mode, and display preferences.
Your search widget is now active. When customers click the search bar on your storefront, they'll see instant search results with filtering, sorting, and pagination. Product changes sync automatically via webhooks.
